Building an AI chatbot for restaurants
We took on an AI chatbot for restaurants, from design through operations. We built it with RAG, so the generative AI (a large language model) answers by referring to information prepared in advance.
Background
Generative AI can answer almost anything, but it sometimes gives answers that don't fit a particular restaurant's circumstances. A chatbot used in a restaurant has to answer based on that restaurant's own information.
What we did
RG handled everything from working out which information should answer which questions, through system design and development, to operations after launch.
We used RAG, a setup in which the generative AI refers to the restaurant's information, prepared in advance, and answers based on it. For the generative AI, we used services provided by Google Cloud and AWS.
Result
In 2025, we handled the project end to end, from design through operations. In this project, we put generative AI to work in a real-world setting, answering based on defined information.
