Web & mobile apps

Websites and apps you can keep improving after launch

Web & mobile apps overview

A website or app starts being used the day it launches. Applications come in, bookings are made, members log in. Whether you can respond quickly to the inconveniences and requests that only surface then shapes how it gets used from that point on.

RG develops web apps and smartphone apps and builds websites. We cover everything from membership services, booking, e-commerce, and admin panels to iOS and Android apps and corporate and service websites. We start by working out who will use it, in what situations, and which parts of your current operations it will replace, then design the screens and the system behind them.

The person who takes your inquiry goes on to handle design and development. Because we work in Japanese, English, and Korean, we can build multilingual sites and services with you, including checking the copy.

Sound familiar?

  • You take bookings and applications by phone and email, and double bookings and missed confirmations happen
  • You want a smartphone app but don't have the budget to build separate iPhone and Android versions
  • Every site update goes through an agency, so even a small fix takes time
  • You want English or Korean pages, but hiring separate companies for translation and production means nothing lines up
  • You've lost touch with your previous web agency, and no one knows what's inside the site
  • There's no one to talk to about improvements after launch, so the project ends once it's built

/ Services

What we offer

01

Web app development

We develop membership services with sign-up and login, booking systems, e-commerce sites, internal admin panels, and more. We also build in the integrations you need to run them, such as payments, email delivery, and chat notifications.

02

Smartphone app development

We develop apps that run on both iOS and Android. Building both together keeps development and maintenance effort down. We also help you prepare for release on the App Store and Google Play.

03

Corporate and service websites

We build websites for company information, recruiting, and service introductions. Built on WordPress, the site lets you update news and case studies yourself. We also prepare the pages needed for launch, such as a contact form and a privacy policy.

04

Multilingual support (Japanese, English, Korean)

We build sites and services in Japanese, English, and Korean. Beyond a language switcher, we check that the text reads naturally in each language. We can also build so that more languages can be added later.

05

Rebuilding existing sites and apps

We examine outdated sites and systems whose inner workings are no longer understood, and judge whether they can be fixed or should be rebuilt. If rebuilding, we decide first how to carry over your current URLs and accumulated data.

06

Improvements and maintenance after launch

Under a monthly maintenance contract, we take on bug fixes, WordPress and library updates, usability improvements, and more. Looking at inquiries and how the site is used, we decide with you what to work on next.

/ Why RG

Why work with RG

01

The person you talk to does the development

The person who hears your needs at the first meeting handles everything from screen design to implementation and launch. With no hand-off between sales and development, misunderstandings are less likely, and even small requests make it straight onto the screen.

02

We map your workflow before designing screens

For a booking site: once a booking comes in, who checks what? For an admin panel: what are you tracking today, and in which spreadsheets? We confirm the workflow before designing screens, so you don't launch only to find "it doesn't work for the people using it."

03

We run our own web service and app

We plan, develop, and run our own products, including Rally, a live quiz for events, and RemoteGate, an SSH terminal app. We bring our experience of improving our own products after launch and distributing an app through the app stores to our client work.

04

We work in Japanese, English, and Korean

Even on projects involving overseas clients or partners, we can review specifications and check copy without an interpreter. We have also rebuilt a Korean company's corporate website in Korean.

/ Process

How we work

  1. STEP 01

    Consultation & current-state review

We ask what you want to build, what's causing trouble today, and who will use it. If you have an existing site or app, we look at how it's built too. It's fine if your requirements aren't settled. Consultations and estimates are free.

  2. STEP 02

    Workflow mapping & screen design

We map how both users and administrators work and list the screens and features needed. While you review the screen layout, we decide what to build first and what can wait, then provide an estimate.

  3. STEP 03

    Development & check-ins

We show you working screens as early as possible and adjust them as you try them out. For multilingual sites, we also check the copy in each language at this stage.

  4. STEP 04

    Launch

We set up the production environment and check display, behavior, form submissions, and more before launch. For apps, we also prepare for app store review. You can also start with a teaser site and switch to the full launch later.

  5. STEP 05

    Improvements & maintenance after launch

After launch, we keep fixing bugs, updating, and improving under a monthly maintenance contract. Looking at how the site or app is used, we decide with you what to work on next.

/ FAQ

FAQ

We're not yet clear on what we want to build. Can we still talk to you?

Yes. We start by hearing what's causing trouble and how your work runs today. As we talk, we sort out which features you need first and which can wait. Consultations and estimates are free.

We want to release our app on both iPhone and Android.

We develop apps that run on both operating systems together. We developed our own app, RemoteGate, ourselves and offer it on the App Store and Google Play. We can also help you prepare for app store review and the submission process.

Can you modify a site or system another company built?

We first look at the source code and the state of the servers, then judge whether modifications will do or whether rebuilding is the better route. Even if no documentation remains, talk to us — we can start by investigating how it works.

Can we update text and images ourselves after launch?

For corporate and service websites, building on WordPress lets you update news, case studies, and more yourselves. We ask at the start how much you want to update yourselves, and set up the editing screens to match.

Can you build pages in English or Korean?

We work in Japanese, English, and Korean. Beyond a language switcher, we check that the text reads naturally. If you need other languages, talk to us, including about how to arrange the translations.

Can you maintain the site or app after launch?

Yes, under a monthly maintenance contract. The main work includes bug fixes, WordPress and library updates, and small improvements. What's included is decided to suit each site or app. We have also handled operations and maintenance after launch for a website aimed at aesthetic clinics.

What should we do about servers and domains?

Talk to us, including about whether to use an environment you already have or set up a new one. Whose name the contracts are in and who manages them should be decided at the start, with operations after launch and any future handover in mind.

Can we change things during development?

How much can change depends on the change and how far development has progressed. Because we show you working screens early on, telling us about concerns early makes them easier to accommodate. If a change would affect the cost or launch date, we explain that beforehand.
